New Shopping Discount for Disney World Passholders & Must-Buy Muppet Christmas Carol Merchandise

Exactly one week after raising prices on Walt Disney World Annual Passes by as much as $120, WDW is now pulling levers in an attempt to improve the value proposition of APs, adding perks and discounts to making Passholders feel more valued. Here’s the latest on that effort, along why Muppets fans are about to be eatin’ good thanks to new must-have Muppet Christmas Carol merchandise coming to DisneyStore that’s eligible for this coupon!

Let’s start with the new merchandise discount, which gives Walt Disney World Annual Passholders a special 20% off on select merchandise at DisneyStore.com. This post shares details about the new deal, but quite frankly, it’s mostly just an excuse to share spectacular souvenirs that Disney has been releasing for The Muppet Christmas Carol.

I’m not normally a merchandise guy, but there are some new must-buys and it would be downright irresponsible of me to not alert you of their existence! Anyway, let’s start with the official details of the new 20% off Annual Passholder discount. Here’s the announcement from Walt Disney World:

There’s no place like DisneyStore.com for the holidays, especially with this AP discount. Passholders, it’s the most wonderful time of the year to get a head start on holiday shopping! That discount you love to use in the Walt Disney World theme parks is now available for a limited time to use from home.

DisneyStore.com is offering WDW Annual Passholders a special 20% discount so you can stock up on stocking-stuffers and get the perfect gift for all your Disney-loving friends and family. Deck the halls and get decked out for your next visit to the parks.

You’d better do it in a flurry, because this 20% Passholder deal is only available from October 14, 2026 to October 25, 2026.

How to Redeem Your 20% Passholder Discount Online:

  1. Check that your Walt Disney World Annual Pass is linked to your MyDisney account by going to The Walt Disney World website, where you’ll select “Log In or Create Account” at the top of the page.
  2. Once you’re logged in, select the “Welcome” message next to your name at the top of the page to navigate to your account details.
  3. Select “Membership & Passes”
  4. Ensure that your Walt Disney World Annual Pass is linked under Link Memberships & Passes to Your Account. If not, select “Add a Disney Annual Pass” and include your ID Number.
  5. Go to DisneyStore.com and sign in using your MyDisney Account credentials.
  6. Place at least one eligible item into your bag.
  7. In “My Bag,” type “WDW20” into the Add Promotion Code area.
  8. The promotion will be applied to all eligible items in your bag as you continue shopping and begin checkout.

This discount isn’t live yet, but it’s worth noting that I was able to use it last year and stack with a free shipping code. Per the fine print below, the same will be true for the 2026 version of the deal, which does not differ materially in its details. (To the contrary, it’s nearly identical–and is even starting and ending within on day of last year.)

Must-Buy Muppet Christmas Carol Merch with the Discount

The Muppet Christmas Carol Collection is coming soon to the Disney Store! The exclusive merchandise release drops on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 11 AM Eastern via Disney Store Private Access, which requires a login for purchase.

This appears to be a fairly simple and standard MyDisney account login and opt-in required, which I assume is just a bit of friction to stop bots and eBay pirates. You can sign up here: https://www.disneystore.com/private-access-content/

Based on my reading of the voluminous fine print, neither the Muppets nor Private Access are excluded from the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder 20% discount. However, some specific items within the release could be excluded. For instance, if the Muppet Christmas Carol Collection were to include a new RSVLTs shirt (fingers crossed!), that would not be eligible for the discount per the fine print.

Anyway, here’s a look at what Disney Store has teased thus far:

Only three preview images have been released thus far showing that the collection will consist of mini plush ornaments, mystery box figurine ornaments, and a Loungefly backpack.

The plush ornaments include Kermit (Bob Cratchit), Miss Piggy (Emily Cratchit), Statler and Waldorf (Ghosts of Jacob and Robert Marley), Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, and Bean Bunny.

The figurine ornaments include most of those same characters, along with Gonzo the Great (Charles Dickens) and Rizzo the Rat (as himself). The Loungefly backpack also features Gonzo/Charles Dickens and Rizzo/Rizzo.

We have a full Christmas tree dedicated to plushes of this size (we bought all of the Country Bears released at Tokyo Disneyland, among many others), so that lineup is perfect for us. I’m also hoping for a Muppet Christmas Carol sweater, which is my white whale.

In addition to this, there’s a bunch of Muppet Christmas Carol merchandise at other retailers.

In case you missed the conversation in the comments to a completely unrelated post last week (that’s why you’ve always gotta read the comments!), there are pajamas at Old Navy and a t-shirt. Here’s a link to the search results for Muppet Christmas Carol at Old Navy.

These are currently 30% off and some sizes are already sold out, definitively demonstrating that the shoppers with sophisticated tastes want more Muppets!

There are also a ton of t-shirts and sweatshirts at Target, Kohl’s, Her Universe, Box Lunch, and Hot Topic, many of which appear to be part of the same collection.

Those are also “on sale,” although that term might be meaningless given how the final four retailers on that list all offer me bonus sales for spinning some wheel. I’m not very good at shopping for clothing; there might be more merchandise elsewhere.

The most unique item is the sweater sold at Box Lunch. I don’t particularly care for the design, but am tempted to buy it anyway just so I have a Muppet Christmas Carol sweater. But I feel like a better one is an inevitably at this point, and I already own too many shirts that I’ve bought for collectible purposes, but do not wear.

My personal favorite existing merchandise is The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic.

We’d love this by default simply because it’s Muppet Christmas Carol. But it’s actually a beautiful book, and one of our favorites to read to our daughter during the holidays. She really loves it, aided by truly exceptional (not really) voiceover narration for each character by me. It’s currently 48% off on Amazon, so we highly recommend grabbing one if you don’t already own it. No children necessary.

Amazon also sells several of the same shirts and sweatshirts as Kohl’s, Target, and the other retailers.

Ultimately, this is awesome to see. Disney has been dipping its toes in the Muppet Christmas Carol merchandise waters for a few years now, first with a D23-exclusive collection for the 30th Anniversary via Mickey’s of Glendale in 2022. That sold out in seconds, and I was unable to score anything I wanted.

Two years ago, there was a RSVLTs collection of 3 shirts, two of which I did manage to snag. To this day, those are the most expensive shirts that I own…and I regret not buying the third. There was also a Muppet Christmas Carol Spirit Jersey on Disney Store last year that I somehow missed; I’m not normally a Spirit Jerseys guy, but would’ve made an exception for that!

Given how well all Muppet Christmas Carol stuff has sold, I hope we’re on the precipice of getting a lot more of it. Sort of like when Figment went from having minimal merchandise in the late aughts (most of what was released after the last ride reimagining was so unpopular it hit the outlets) to having a mountain of it now.

Given that the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay appears to have a Muppet Christmas Carol connection, it would make sense to release more at Walt Disney World in that gift shop.

All I know is that I really, really want a Muppet Christmas Carol sweater and the $500+ prices the D23 one fetches on eBay make it a complete non-starter. Point being, everyone use your AP discount to scoop up as much of that Muppet Christmas Carol Collection via Private Access as possible to send a message to Disney that we want more. Just please do so after I’ve already made my selections!

  1. “WDW is now pulling levers in an attempt to improve the value proposition of APs”

Maybe but this is not one of them.

    1. They really are. We aren’t “merchandise people” for the most part, but that is one product on which Sarah and I both align.

Also, we’ve “discovered” that plush ornaments are perfect when you have a toddler. She’s yet to break a single one!

  2. All we hear from Disney is “increase, increase, take away, take away.” As a DVC member, our benefits are limited to just 10 or 20% discounts on merchandise. They removed the bus service to the airport from resort guests, eliminated the free FastPass (now charging for it), and are now raising prices for Lightning Lane access—just more creative ways to pull money from families. How much more are they going to burden those with limited means? It’s unbelievable.
